Teisserie Blackcurrant Syrup (Cassis in French) is a classic rich drinking syrup that can be added to still water or sparkling water to create a refreshing drink.
In 1720 in Grenoble, Mathieu Teisseire created a distillery specializing in drinks based on fruits and plants, especially ratafia, an apéritif based on cherries. In 1927, the company began production on a broader commercial scale. In 1957, Teisseire launched the first syrup in a tube and in 1959, it revolutionized the market by introducing syrups in the metal bottle, which has since become its trademark. Today, Teisseire is the number one syrup in France.
