Description
Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) has
long been revered in the Amazon rainforest for its powerful
immune-building qualities. It has slowly been gaining recognition in
the U.S. as well, and has received attention from Newsweek as well as other scientific journals.
Newsweek reported that this "rain forest herb has been long used to treat asthma, ulcers, and cancer. ("Nature’s Biggest Sellers", Newsweek, November 6, 1995, page 68) In an article in Newlife,
cat’s claw was described as having so many therapeutic uses that it far
surpassed such well known botanicals as Echinacea, Golden Seal,
Astragalus, Siberian Ginseng, and even Reishi and Shitake mushrooms.
