In 1835, Charles Bewley, made history by bringing the ship ‘Hellas’ into Dublin from Canton, bearing over 2,000 chests of tea.
It
was an extraordinary initiative for the time and the Hellas was to be
the first of many such ships. This was the first time that tea was
shipped direct to Dublin since the Boston Tea Party, which saw an end
to the monopoly held by the East India trading company in 1833.
Like
wine, no two tea vintages are quite the same. So, our philosophy about
tea is to blend consistent tastes and flavors for our customers. We
source our tea from Kenya, China, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
Selecting only the finest teas based on leaf appearance and infusion
qualities such as flavor, color, strength and briskness. We offer a
wide range of loose leaf, string & tag and specialty teas in all
our channels, retail, food service, convenience and at work.
White Tea is a premium quality tea produced in very limited quantities
in select locations around the world. The new buds are plucked before
they open; they then undergo a long, natural withering process and are
dried. This natural maturation process gives our White Tea its unique
and delicate flavor. As the leaves are very young, White Tea is lower
in caffeine. The cranberry we add is a perfect complement to this tea,
adding a bright, fruity character and an appealing aroma.
Ingredients:
95% White Tea, 4% Natural Flavor and 1% Cranberry Pieces.
