Description
This pendant is made from Irish Sterling Silver with pieces of Connemara Marble inlayed to bring out the Trinity Knot design. It is very much a modern piece based on an ancient Irish symbol.
A simple but impressive design – one strand of sterling silver weaves in and out of itself with no beginning, no middle and no end. The ancient Trinity design can be seen in the Book of Kells which dates back to the 9th century. You can see this infamous book on display at Trinity College in Dublin.
The marble comes from our own quarry in Lissoughter Co Galway and is over 900 million years old. You can only find our marble in the West of Ireland. Irish sterling silver is hallmarked at Dublin Castle in Ireland which gives the earrings an extra connection to Ireland.
The Trinity symbol pre-dates the crucifix by hundreds of years. It is associated with never ending love. This is because the knot has no beginning, no middle and no end. The finish on the knot is exquisite and very detailed in style.
The piece measures 25 mm from bottom to the top of the bail and 18mm from side to side and has a weight of 2.7 grams.
The pendant hangs on a Sterling Silver 18″ inch chain. Our Sterling Silver is hallmarked at the Dublin Assay office which is located in Dublin Castle.
